Cookie Policy

01The short version

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on ankasoft.com. Our analytics platform, a self-hosted Umami instance, is cookieless by design — it does not store anything on your device.

The only data that may be stored in your browser relates to session state (for example, a language preference) and is never used for profiling or advertising.

02Essential browser storage

The site may use a small amount of browser storage to remember preferences you set during a visit, such as the preferred language (English, Deutsch or Nederlands). This storage is limited to the current browser, is not personal data in itself, and has no expiry longer than is necessary for the preference to remain useful.

03Analytics

We use Umami, a self-hosted and privacy-focused analytics engine. Umami does not set cookies. It does not generate a persistent identifier for visitors. It does not build behavioural profiles.

Aggregated data we collect includes the URL visited, the referrer, and the country-level region derived from IP at the edge — which is immediately discarded after the coarse region is extracted. We do not store your IP address.

04Third-party embeds

The site does not embed third-party advertising, social-media widgets or marketing tags that would set cookies in your browser. Links to LinkedIn, X and GitHub open the corresponding sites in a new tab; those sites then apply their own cookie policies which are outside our control.

05How to manage browser storage

You can clear browser storage at any time through your browser's privacy settings. Doing so will reset any language preference you chose on the site but will not affect your ability to use any feature.

06Changes to this policy

If we ever start using cookies or third-party tracking, we will update this policy before we enable the new behaviour and, where legally required, ask for your consent through an explicit banner.
